Come celebrate with us the 27th edition of the Wendover Western Festival from July 19 to 24, 2011 on a lovely site facing the Outaouais River, located at the Lucien-Delorme Community Hall in Wendover. The festival is an annual event where French and English country and folk music is in honor.More than thirty-five great shows with well-known artists. On the humorous side, we have a great French comedy show with the Markalou Troup called ‘S.O.S. My wife is a police’. For the Johnny Cash lovers, a great show you want to make sure to see, with Tendance Alcoolique; a very talented group who pays a great tribute to Johnny Cash. We will also have the queen of the French country, Julie Daraiche; Rhéal Leblanc from New Brunswick; J.C. Harrisson who pays tribute to Hank Williams and Marie-Pier who sings Renée Martel. New items on for this year. We will have half a day of free activities for the kids. They will be able to attend a magic show with MicPo the Magicien, play on the inflatable structures, get their face painted and leave with some unimaginable balloon sculptures. For those interested in Wendover’s historical background, a genealogist will be on site to talk about the historical background and answer any questions. Born in Wendover and author of two books, she has done a lot of researches on Wendover’s ancestory families and Wendover’s pioneers’ families. We have combined the talent and the fiddlers show to have only one event called Campers’ Party. This event will be run by a local artist, Ronald Beauchamp who will be accompanied by Denis Ayotte, a story teller and song-writer, resident of Wendover. A show you will not want to miss out on!
