Jean-Yves Lalonde

Jean-Yves Lalonde was born in Curran in 1948, he still lives in the family house located at 940 Élizabeth Street. Married to Ginette Savage of the village of Alfred in 1975, he is the father of three children: Jasmin, 29 years, studying for a doctorate at McGill University, lives in Montreal with his spouse Patricia Bonneau and their new-born baby Maximilienne; Julien, 26 years, employed in logistics at the Ottawa Hospital, lives in Curran with his wife Danagh McDonnell and her son Ashton; Josée-Anne, 21 years, student at the Faculty of Education of the University of Ottawa.   

Jean-Yves obtains a Masters degree in Education at the University of Ottawa in 1977 and a Certificate of Supervision Agent in 1992.  Retired in 2000 after 33 years in the field of education, as teacher, education adviser with the Ministry of Education and school principal, he was elected as Mayor of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet in 2003.   

Since this time, he is entirely devoted entirely to municipal life in our area. He supports a vision of transparency and team work with the ultimate goal of maintaining and improving the quality of life for the residents of our municipality.
