BEAVER PROBLEMS?

The municipality is responsible for removing obstructions such as beaver dams on municipal drains.  (Costs are then shared between owners of the municipal drain).  However, municipalities are not responsible for the maintenance of natural watercourses or private drains and have no legal right to enter onto private properties.  It is therefore the landowner`s responsibility to contact a qualified trapper and have the beavers removed.  The municipality or the Ministry of Natural Resources can provide you with names of local trappers.

In case of potential damages to a municipal road, please contact our Roads Superintendent at 673-5138 or 673-4797.
