Important natural attractions in the area include the Ottawa river and the South Nation river.  These two rivers, with their wealth of history, largely contributed to the economic development of the area.  The South Nation merges with the Ottawa river in Wendover.   

The villages of Lefaivre, Treadwell and Wendover, along the Ottawa river offer many outdoor activities, such as  marinas, campsites, fishing and other water sports.  (The river is recognized for its walleye tournaments.) 

It is the ideal place to launch your canoe or pleasure boat!!
