Come discover the unique charm of our rural community, nestled in the heart of Eastern Ontario.  Made up of seven essentially Francophone villages including Alfred, Curran, Lefaivre, Pendleton, Plantagenet, Treadwell and Wendover, the Township of Alfred is advantageously located between two major urban centres; Ottawa, 45 minutes to the west and Montreal 75 minutes to the east.  The US border at Cornwall Ontario is only 45 minutes to the south.  A ferry at Lefaivre provides direct access to the province of Quebec.

For those who seek a more rural setting, the township is crisscrossed by quiet country roads and lanes which along with the Ottawa and the South Nation Rivers all offer great sites for homes or cottages.

Four school boards offer a wide choice in education in both official languages.

Throughout the seasons, the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet and its beautiful rural landscapes will add to the warm welcome of its residents.
