The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet ensures waste management within its territory. The Municipality offers garbage and recyclables pick-up to reduce the effect of waste on its citizen’s health, the environment or the aesthetics of our region. In addition, special waste collection programs are available at specific times of the year, and the landfill site is accessible to residents.


Christmas Trees

You may dispose of your Christmas Trees at the following locations in the Township:

Alfred: Water Tower

Plantagenet: Municipal Garage (at the far end of the backyard ) - 205 Old Highway 17

Lefaivre: Fire Station (at the back) - 1971 HôtelDeVille St, Lefaivre

Wendover : Community Centre (at the back) - 5000 du Centre St. Wendover

Leaves and Yard Waste — Landfill Site 

Grass clippings and leaves may be brought directly to the landfill site at no charge. 

Notice To Residents- 64 gallons waste per collection 

Please place garbage or recycling for collection within 5 metres (15 feet) of the travelled portion of the street or highway fronting your property by 7:00 a.m. on the morning of the day of collection.

The occupant of a residential dwelling unit may put a maximum of 64 gallons or three (3) standard bags (containers or bundles) of domestic waste per collection. 

Garbage and recycling pick-up is done according to the regular schedule  all year long, except on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.  Pick-up scheduled on one of these holidays will be postponed by one day.

Tires

There are no fees for the disposal of tires. Tires must be brought to the municipal landfill site.

Please make sure that tires are removed from the rims.
