A peat bog represents a rare habitat to animal and bird species. The Alfred Bog, with its 10,000 acres of unique ecosystem is now managed by Ontario Parks as a Provincial Nature Reserve. The 0.273 km long boardwalk at the Alfred Bog lets you admire this beautiful ecosystem all the while preserving the fragile area. While there, you can indulge in birdwatching, especially during nesting time and migration in the spring and fall.

Follow Concession Road 11 south of Alfred and watch for the Alfred Bog signs.
