7 villages, 10,000 residents and nearly 400 square kilometres of land. That's a lot of space for festivals and special events organized by the community, but it also leaves room for great activities for our residents and out-of-town guests. Here's what your municipality has to offer this summer!

Outdoor Cinema

You're invited to a free open-air movie night at 8:00 p.m. on Friday August 15, 2025. The event takes place at the Lefaivre Riverside park. The film is bilingual, and will be subtitled in English. 

The movie "French Girl" demonstrates the Franco-English reality of a young couple with a touch of rural humor. It's a comedy that will appeal to the whole family.

  • The event is free. 
  • Bring your chair, blankets and pillows. 
  • Popcorn will be sold on site.
  • No alcool permitted on site.
  • In the event of rain and thunderstorms, the event will be rescheduled to Saturday, August 16 at 8 p.m.

Movie synopsis : Follows Gordon Kinski (Zach Braff), a high school teacher from Brooklyn, who goes with his girlfriend and chef Sophie Tremblay (Evelyne Brochu) to her hometown of Quebec City where she is testing for the Michelin 3-star restaurant of super-chef Ruby Collins (Vanessa Hudgens).

Sunset Yoga

3 evenings, 3 villages. The Recreation Department is organizing 3 one hour sunset yoga sessions with instructor Michelle Levac.

  • Tuesday, June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Lefaivre Riverside Park, on the outdoor stage.
  • Tuesday, July 8 at 7 p.m. at the Treadwell Park, under the pavilion
  • Tuesday, August 12 at 7 p.m. at the Denis St-Pierre Park in Wendover, by the splash pad. 

Everyone can join in free of charge. Wear comfortable clothing, bring your water bottle and insect repellent of your choice.

Morning Yoga  

Every Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m., come and enjoy a free yoga session at the Lefaivre Riverside Park. 

No registration required and it's free! From June 11 to August 27 2025. 

These sessions are offered thanks to the financial support of the Minister of Seniors' Services and Accessibility through our Township of Alfred and Plantagenet Active Seniors Program. They are intended for people aged 55 and over but are open to all.

Come breathe and find your inner peace with instructor Michelle Levac.

Canada Day 2025

Canada Day (2024)

Alfred and Plantagenet Municipal Pools

The Alfred and Plantagenet pools are open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. from June 14 to August 25, 2025. The pools are closed daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Open swim is free at both pools every Sunday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Splash Pad at the Denis St-Pierre Park in Wendover 

Wendover's splash pad is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., from the long weekend of May to the end of summer.

Rent a bicycle for free and explore

Did you know that all library card holders can rent bicycles through the library of Alfred and the library of Plantagenet for free? 

Please note that a signed waiver and $25 deposit per bike are necessary to rent. The deposit will be refunded upon the return of the rented equipment. Contact your library for more information.
