Township's 25th anniversary

2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet since the amalgamation of the Township of North Plantagenet, the Town of Plantagenet, the Township of Alfred, and the Town of Alfred in 1997.

To celebrate this milestone, the Township is organizing a series of events for various groups in the community, and has designed a temporary logo to commemorate the 25th anniversary.

Recognition Party for Township Volunteers

Many of our committees and events couldn't function without the hours devoted by our dedicated volunteers. This party, hosted by the Recreation Committee on November 6, is a yearly tradition we haven't been able to carry out over the last two years. It's our special thanks to those members of the community who go above and beyond to help.

Recognition Party for Township Employees, Past Mayors and Councillors.

Naturally, we couldn't operate without every person that makes up the Township staff and council. This event is another tradition that was put on hold due to the pandemic. We'll take the opportunity to celebrate important milestones and thank the staff for their hard work over their years of service. As a special addition to this year's 25th anniversary since the amalgamation of the Township, we'll invite past Mayors and Councillors to attend on November 10 and celebrate with us how far we've come since 1997, and the progress still have ahead of us.
