Consultation Process for Accessibility Needs
When a person with a disability requests accessible information or communication support, we will:
- Acknowledge the Request: Confirm receipt of the request and explain the next steps.
- Consult with the Requester: Work directly with the individual to determine their accessibility needs and preferred method of communication. This may involve discussing:
- The nature of the information required
- Assistive devices or services they use
- Preferred formats or supports (e.g., Braille, plain language, etc.)
- Determine Feasibility: Assess how the requested format or support can be provided efficiently and affordably. If it is not feasible, we will propose a suitable alternative that meets the individual's needs.
- Confirm and Deliver: Provide the requested format/support in a timely manner, at no extra cost, and confirm delivery with the requester.
