Effective April 18, 2022, the Township will strictly enforce By-law 2020-36 which allows each residential unit to dispose of a maximum of 120 litres of household garbage per week in the municipally provided garbage bin. Any excess bag must be clearly tagged and weigh less than 30 lbs. Excess bags that are not tagged, or any items deemed unacceptable will no longer be collected.

On Tuesday evening, the Township Council adopted the 2022 budget for the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, which includes a 2.5% increase in property taxes. This represents an average increase of approximately $33.86 per residence.
