The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet's Canada Day will have you moving and dancing with its annual Canoe-Kayak Race and shows for everyone! As per tradition, unique fireworks will be displayed over the Ottawa River around 10 p.m.
Here is more information specific to the canoe and kayak race. Note that from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., activities for families will be offered on site.
Location
The race will start and end at the Riverside Park in Lefaivre (1965 Lajoie street, Lefaivre).
Arrival Time
We invite you to arrive at 8:30 a.m. to get everyone ready for the race. The start of the race will be at 9 a.m..
Parking
- Accessible parking at the former Town Hall in Lefaivre (1950 Lajoie Street)

- At the MRG Joseph Charbonneau Community Centre (2005 Du Parc Street)
- At the Saint-Thomas Church (2050 Lajoie Street)
Route
There will be an 11 km race starting from the Riverside park at 9 a.m. and a 4 km race taking place at the same time. The halfway point will be marked on the water and competitors will be asked to turn around.
Price and registration
Registration can be done online until June 27th. Last minute registration will also be accepted on site.
The 11 km race is $30 per watercraft.
The 4 km race is free!
Prizes
Trophy paddles and prizes will be given for the winners.
