The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is offering Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses this summer at the Alfred Municipal Pool.

The aim of these courses is to prepare candidates for lifesaving and lifeguarding in emergency situations.

Registration

Registration will take place starting June 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in person at the Town Hall in Plantagenet (located 205 Old Hwy 17), and during the weekdays until June 16, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spots are limited.

All participants must be at least 13 years old before the final exam (date TBD).

Course Schedule

Classes will be held every Wednesday and Friday starting from July 5, 2023.

  • Wednesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.*; and
  • Friday mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m*.

*The exact length of the class may vary based on class and instructor needs. The instructor will communicate the precise schedule with registered persons.

Classes will be held at the Alfred Pool, except on July 5 and 7, when classes will be held at the Plantagenet Pool.

Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross Prices

  • Bronze Medallion: 150$
  • Bronze Cross: 160$
  • Bronze Medallion AND Bronze Cross: 285$

Optional

  • Course book: 50$

Note: Fees are not refundable if a participant needs to leave early from the lessons, unless the Township cancels the lessons or that participant has a health issue (a medical certificate will be required).
