The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet's team of lifeguards are offering a variety of swimming lessons this summer.

Registration for swimming lessons will take place in person at the Alfred and Plantagenet Town Hall on June 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on weekdays until June 16, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pay for the lessons via debit (preferred), cash, or cheque.

The lessons are for individuals who will be 3 years of age or older before the end of the swimming lessons. Upon your arrival for registration, we will guide you to the best age group for you or your child.

Aquazumba Lessons

It is possible to attend the Aquazumba class on a daily basis, or to register for the season. The time slots for the classes are as follows:

Alfred

From June 19 to August 23, on:

  • Monday at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Plantagenet

From June 19 to August 23, on:

  • Monday at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Wednesday at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Group Lessons

Group lessons will take place between 8:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. and will last between 30 and 45 minutes the week of:

Alfred

  • June 26 to July 7.

Plantagenet

  • July 17 to July 28.

The exact time will be communicated by the instructor the week prior to the start of the group lessons.

 Semi-private Lessons

Semi-private swimming lessons will take place in half-hour blocks, between June 26 to August 19. During registration, you will be given the time and location of the pool (in Alfred or Plantagenet)

The available times are as follows:

Alfred

  • Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Plantagenet

  • Tuesday from from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday from from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

*Saturday courses will start on July 8

*Note that taxes are applicable to anyone aged 15 years or older (swimming lessons only).

Sanitary Measures 

  • If you are sick, have symptoms related to COVID-19, have been in contact with someone who is sick, or if your temperature exceeds 37.8 ℃ or 100 F, stay home!
  • It will be strongly recommended to pay via Interac. A season pass will be available to promote contactless payment.

*Note: it is possible that the measures and restrictions will change over the course of the summer.
