7 villages, 10,000 residents and nearly 400 square kilometres of land. That's a lot of space for festivals and special events organized by the community, but it also leaves room for great activities for our residents and out-of-town guests. Here's what your municipality has to offer this summer!
Organized by the recreation department and in partnership with the public libraries and Alliance-Curran and their summer markets. You're invited to free movie nights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evenings at the Curran Forum.
There will be a canteen on site. The film will start after the market. Bring your blankets and pillows. In September, the film presentation will take place outdoor; the other 3 presentations will take place in the community hall.
The Recreation Department is organizing two sunset yoga sessions with instructor Michelle Levac.
Everyone can join in free of charge. Wear comfortable clothing, bring your water bottle and insect repellent of your choice.
Michelle is a passionate and certified yoga teacher. She will assist all participants, beginners or advanced, during the two one-hour sessions.
These sessions are offered thanks to the financial support of the Minister of Seniors' Services and Accessibility through our Township of Alfred and Plantagenet Active Seniors Program. They are intended for people aged 55 and over but are open to all.
Come breathe and find your inner peace!
Get ready to move and dance at the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet's Canada Day! The day will kick off with the annual canoe-kayak race. There will be free on-site activities for families. Starting at 4 p.m., celebrate with the bands “Socks Over Pants”, “Maple Juice” and “LGS (Le Groupe Swing)”. As per tradition, unique fireworks will be set off over the Ottawa River around 10 p.m.
The Alfred and Plantagenet pools are open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. from June 15 to August 25, 2024. The pools are closed daily from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
