A waste container of 120 litres (32 gallons) marked with the Township's logo is given to each residence. This container is the waste limit for each registered house in the Township each week. No other container can be used for the weekly collection.
If you're a new resident, you'll receive a container at the same time you get a unit building permit. The new container cost $40. We will pay 50% of that cost and the other 50% will be added to your next property tax bill. If there is no container left by the previous owner at your new home in the Township, you can contact the township for a new container.
If your waste container is broken, lost or stolen, you'll need to purchase a replacement container for $40. You can purchase a new container at Town Hall. All broken containers must be returned to Town Hall.
We'll collect up to 120 litres (32 gallons) of garbage from each registered house in the Township each week. If you have more garbage, you'll need to purchase and mark any additional bags with a yellow garbage tag.

Recyclable material can be put in a blue box, a clear bag or any container identified with an “R” or the word “Recycling.” Learn about our recycling and drop-off locations.
Paper and plastic can go in the same container. View our Recycle action flyer to learn what you can place in your recycling. If you place trash or non-recyclable content in your recycling, we won't collect the recycling and it will stay on the side of the road.
All the recycling goes to the sorting centre Recycle-Action.
