Team Rubicon Canada and Community Disaster Response comes to the aid of the citizens of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet

Team Rubicon Canada (www.team-rubicon.ca), a registered charity made up of veterans and volunteers, with the support of Community Disaster Response Ontario (www.cdro.ca), Ontario’s non-governmental not-for-profit organisation supporting communities will be lending a hand to the citizens of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet with the clean-up effort left in the wake of the May 21st storm.

Members will arrive over the weekend and be ready to serve as early as Monday, June 6th, 2022. In addition to assisting the Township with the collection of branches, trees and stumps, They will directly assist the citizens of Alfred and Plantagenet by providing a variety of free services including:

  • Debris management including, in some circumstances, cutting down trees for citizens unable to do so, as well as collecting branches, trees and stumps;

  • Site assessments to determine the extent of damage to a residence or business for emergency repairs;

  • Providing some emergency repairs to homes or businesses, such as doors or windows.

As a reminder, the Public Works team will begin collecting branches, trees and stumps left at the curb by citizens this Monday, June 6th. Residents also still have the option of dropping them off at the municipal landfill free of charge until Saturday, June 11th, 2022.
