Violence and Harassment Towards Staff Members of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet  

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of Ontario, every employee of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is entitled to work in a workplace free of any violence and harassment. 

Over the course of the last few weeks, members of the public have subjected many of our staff members to verbal attacks, personal insults, and highly inappropriate comments. This is unacceptable. We will not tolerate any act of violence or any form of harassment against our staff.

Just like you, we cannot wait to return to some sense of normalcy and to greet you, in person, and serve you proudly.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our administrative offices remain closed to the public for the time being. Despite this, all essential municipal services have been maintained, albeit that some delays are to be expected in certain cases. 

In the meantime, we ask for your cooperation and understanding in these difficult times.
