Waste Collection Update - March 1, 2024

Dear residents of the Township,

The year 2024 brings certain changes to the waste collection system.

Firstly, we would like to remind you that the Township no longer ensures the collection of residential recyclable materials. Since October 1, 2023, this service has been managed by the non-profit organization Circular Materials. The local contractor providing this collection, Cool Containers, is responsible for responding to any questions and comments regarding residential recycling collection.

Half-Load Restrictions 2024

Please note that half-load restrictions will be in effect across the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet's territory as of Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Any axle on a commercial motor vehicle or trailer weighing more than 5,000 kg (5 tonnes per axle) is not allowed on the roads of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet during this time.

Half-load restrictions will end on April 8, 2024.
