CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ALFRED AND PLANTAGENET

By-law Number 2011-58

Being a By-law to amend By-law Number 2009-39 to regulate water consumption during the summer months.

Short Title: SUMMER WATERING BY-LAW)

WHEREAS under Section 11 of the Municipal Act 2001 a municipality may pass by-laws
respecting matters within the sphere of jurisdiction of Public Utilities, and Public Utilities
includes a system that is used to provide water services for the public;

AND WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet adopted By-law number 2009-39 to regulate water consumption during the summer months pursuant to the provisions of the said Act;

NOW THEREFORE be it enacted as follows:

  1. That paragraph 1 of By-law Number 2009-39 be amended to read as follows, in order to include the Village of Plantagenet:
    "No person shall use or allow to be used water at any time between June 1st and September 30th in any year outside of any building within Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 that are serviced by municipal water systems except as hereinafter provided:
    1. on even calendar dates at only those municipal addresses ending with numbers 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 only between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
    2. on odd calendar dates at only those municipal addresses ending with numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 only between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m."
