Canada Day Lights Up in Ultraviolet

The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet is proud to announce the programming for the 2026 Canada Day celebration, which will take place at Lefaivre Riverside Park on Wednesday, July 1.


The festivities will return this year with a unifying, family-friendly program set in a magical setting along the Ottawa River. From 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., residents and visitors are invited to take part in this celebration highlighting the community and Canadian culture. The program will feature a family zone, activities for all ages, a soccer zone celebrating the FIFA World Cup 2026 hosted in Canada, musical performances, as well as a spectacular fireworks display over the Ottawa River in the evening.

The musical lineup will feature Brian St-Pierre, the band Socks Over Pants, and Damien Robitaille as the headlining act.


Originally from the Franco-Ontarian village of Lafontaine, Damien Robitaille is a singer-songwriter known for his inventive and eclectic pop sound. He has earned the Félix-Leclerc Prize at Les Francos de Montréal and has become a distinctive voice on the Canadian music scene. His album Homme autonome was certified gold in 2023, and in 2025 he released his 11th studio album, Ultraviolet.


The Township invites residents and visitors from across the region to join the Canada Day celebrations and enjoy a full program of free festive activities at Lefaivre Riverside Park.
