Intake, Low-Lift Pumping Station (LLPS), and Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
Schedule ‘B’ and ‘C’ Class Environmental Assessments
The purpose of both the Schedule ‘B’ and ‘C’ Class EAs is to evaluate suitable options to address the servicing capacity of the Wendover WTP and its upstream infrastructure (intake pipe and LLPS). The Class EAs will identify preferred solutions that will accommodate current and future drinking water demands. The goal of the Class EAs is to provide a solution that will benefit the community well into the future.
Public consultation is a key component of this Study. This Public Consultation Centre will be held to identify the existing system constraints, as well as potential alternative solutions.
The preferred alternatives currently being considered involve:
- Rehabilitation of the existing intake pipe and installation of a new intake pipe.
- Installation of new, higher-capacity pumps in the existing LLPS.
- Installation of a new water treatment train within the walls of the existing treatment facility.
