The Township of Alfred and Plantagenet has invested in the creation of over 3 km of trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in winter, as well as walking/hiking trails in the summer.

Dogs on leashes are permitted ONLY on hiking trails, however owners must pick up after their pets. Dogs are not permitted without a leash.

The trails are open to all from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and do not require a pass.

Winter Activities

  • Borrow a fat bike, snowshoes, helmets, toboggans or any other equipment for free when visiting this location. Visit the Alfred Library in the Larocque Park to see what is available.
  • Make sure you follow the Winter Trail Etiquette

Summer Activities 

  • Borrow balls, helmets, tennis rackets, pickleball rackets and bicycles free of charge during your visit.
