The Township is proud to announce a $25,000 donation from Desjardins, which will support the development of an outdoor obstacle course at Larocque Woods. This donation, received on March 24, 2026, will enable the next phase of development for this increasingly popular outdoor site.

Since its acquisition, Larocque Woods has been the focus of ongoing efforts to create an accessible and welcoming space for the entire community. Following a public consultation held between 2022 and 2024, the Township was able to guide the site’s development based on residents’ needs and aspirations.

Identified as a priority action in the 2023–2026 Strategic Plan, the enhancement of the woods is now moving forward to its next phase. With growing attendance and increased interest in activities held on site, the time is right to continue its development.

This project will:

  • Promote physical activity;
  • Encourage community participation in nature-based activities;
  • Raise awareness about the woods’ wildlife and plant life, as well as the environmental importance of forests;
  • Attract visitors to the region by offering a medium-length outdoor activity, thereby supporting local businesses and contributing to the vitality of the St. Philippe Street area.

This future outdoor obstacle course will further strengthen Larocque Woods’ role as a gathering place and outdoor destination, benefiting the entire community.
