Carbon Monoxide Detectors Required on Every Floor
Starting January 1, 2026, the Ontario Fire Code will require carbon monoxide (CO) detectors on every floor of homes and buildings that contain:
- a fuel-burning appliance,
- a fireplace, or
- an attached garage.
Protect your household and ensure your CO detectors are properly installed and in working order.
